In sports there is the term “look ahead game” which means that when a great team has a HUGE rivalry game with big implications for their entire season coming up, oftentimes, the most dangerous game can be the “trap game” right BEFORE the big game. This is because their focus is not on what is right in front of them, but instead on their NEXT opponent.
I have always referred to Thanksgiving as my “look-ahead” Holiday.
My attitude towards Thanksgiving, however, changed two years ago when we decided to invite a refugee family over to enjoy a meal with us as opposed to our usual Thanksgiving dinner with extended family. I wish I had done this so much sooner!! Since having Sadiki and his incredible family over for Thanksgiving, we have become lifelong friends. I would have otherwise never had a chance to really get to know and love his family had we not made this decision to embrace the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our oldest daughter is the same age as one of their girls and they are inseparable when together. It’s the coolest thing ever to see.

In 1621 Plymouth Colonist got together with the Wampanoag Native tribe to celebrate an autumn harvest together. Colonist then carried on this tradition up until 1863 when in the midst of Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving as a National Holiday.

Our decision to have a meal with people who come from different parts of the world and learn about their stories has turned Thanksgiving from a look-ahead Holiday to a Holiday I truly look forward to.
This year we will be having our amazing contractor over along with his beautiful wife and kids to break bread and give thanks for all of the many blessings we enjoy.
I wanted to take a moment to appreciate what we have been able to accomplish in our real estate turnkey business because of our amazing contractors.
Walter and his team are the real deal. I know this because I have spent 15 years looking for a contractor that has all of their qualities.
-Extreme Ownership If they make a mistake, they will own it. No excuses. No pointing fingers. They get it done.
-Hit deadlines
-Hit budgets
-Creative problem solvers They rarely call me with a problem they do not already have a solution to.
-Pride in their work
-Hungry to learn, grow, and eager to improve
The Results have been nothing short of remarkable…
This year we have been able to help our clients:
-Average $38,000 in equity/appreciation year one per property!
-Average 19.4% return on investment
*Most importantly cash flow day one even with today’s rates of 7% or higher.
Above all else when I look at these numbers above, I am grateful, humble and excited to watch others’ dreams of growing their passive income and starting their journey towards generational wealth.
So many of our peers have decided to sit out 2023. For good reason too!
It has been the most difficult year in my career to find properties that bring this type of return.
Without the incredible team that we have in place, there is absolutely no chance we could have pulled this off.
Last of all, I would be remiss if I did not thank all of our investors who have trusted us to help them buy their rental properties this year.
Your faith and trust in us is what keeps us motivated to improve each day. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy having a purpose that goes far beyond making myself wealthy in real estate. It means so much more to do it alongside others! This is why I love what I do so much.
In the words of Clement Stone: “If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share.”
